Garden Obsessed!

When we first planted the garden, I was excited, but had no idea what it would do for me.  As the garden grows and changes, I find myself feeling such a sense of accomplishment - and truly loving all of the fruits of our labor!  Especially living in Bermuda, where everything is so expensive,  not having to buy herbs, tomatoes and soon to be cucumbers, onions and fennel is such a great feeling!  This past weekend, John and I were making dinner and I said "would you mind going outside and cutting some dill?"  Seriously, as a cook, I'm not sure it gets any better than that (short of having a huge farm, that is)!

So, here are some pictures of our growing garden.....

The tomato plants are really starting to produce fruit - can't wait until we have enough to share with the neighbors!

I'm pretty sure the fennel is going to take over!  It's HUGE - the two next to it are sherry peppers and yellow bell peppers - which are flowering, so soon, we'll be enjoying!

And yes, Jackie, my pepper is finally turning red!  It's amazing what a little rain will do!  This one is also flowering, so we should have more soon!

Basil anyone??  All of our basil, the regular, the lemon and the cinnamon are all taking off!  Actually, all of the herbs are!  We have sage, cilantro, parsley, thyme, chives, tarragon - it's all growing like crazy!  Pesto is definitely in our future!!!

And the cucumber - do you remember when it was just one little leaf?  Check it out - its really getting big and the flowers mean cucumbers are coming!  Pickles, pickles and more pickles this summer!!!!  Not to mention a greek salad or two!
