Busy week of catching up

This was a very busy week for us and we loved every minute of it!  I wasn't so good at taking pictures, so I apologize in advance.

Wednesday night, we met our friend April for dinner at Blu.  Blu is an interesting place and like all Bermuda restaurants, they have the most random menu, but everything we've ever had is tasty and the service is good, which is uncommon here!  I'm sorry I didn't get a picture because the view is spectacular - its the entire harbor and when the sun is setting, its a wonderful place to be.  The night was filled with laughter, it was great catching up and turned out to be the perfect Wednesday night.

Thursday, I had lunch with an old colleague in town and again, it was really nice catching up.  That evening, I went to a cooking class with some ladies at a little chefs store in town.  The class was good, it was taught by the chef from Cambridge Beaches restaurant and was similar to DeGustibus, only smaller.  The menu wasn't my favorite, but it was good to be out and nice meeting some new people.  I will definitely go back once classes resume in the fall.

After the class, I went and met John, who was out with some people from the industry.  Some of them I knew (one from my days of interning at AIG in NYC) and others I didn't and it was really fun getting to know everyone.

Friday, we had John's boss, Eric, and his kids (Reese who is 10 and Emma who is 6) as well as the Jordan clan over for dinner.  I decided to do what reminds me of Hawaii - everyone except mom, Jenny and Auntie are going to think it's random, but it was a big hit!  I made kahula pig, teryaki chicken, noodles with vegetables, bean sprouts and onion and Mary's delicious chicken lemon potstickers to start. The potstickers were definitely a fan favorite!  Actually, all of it was!  I have to say, it was the first time Excell actually tried something and asked for a plate of it - the chicken won him over and it was a great feeling for me!  Who knew my hardest critic would be a 3 year old?!?!!  The evening was really nice and entertaining with this meal is so easy because it's al done in advance.  I told John - he's going to be having this a lot more often!  (well, maybe not the pig.....i'm still airing the house out!!!)

Saturday we ran some errands in the morning and then met Steve and Emma for afternoon golf followed by dinner and the Hangover 2.  We all played poorly (and that's putting it nicely), but it was fun to be out on the course.  The movie was ok for me - the entire theater was laughing, so most people enjoyed, but it wasn't as good as the first one....although there were a few good one liners.

Chicks on the golf course - so cute!!!  Luckily we didn't hit one of them!
This morning I am off to have a splurge - a mani/pedi with Marta!  Then I'm hoping this cloud covers disappears and we can go down to the beach for the afternoon - we're exhausted and need a day of relaxing!

John with part of our view - just because!
