Gumbo!

It's become a tradition that I make gumbo for the superbowl and John and I have people over to watch the game.  This started 5 years ago and I've been able to improve and tone down the spice every year.  The first time I made it, I thought everyone was going to die from the heat!

This year, John and I are not going to be here for the superbowl, so we decided to to gumbo on Sunday for the playoffs and invite our friends to stop in anytime after the first game through the Golden Globes.  It was the last time we are going to entertain in this apartment for a while and it was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday.  As most of you know, we live in an apartment that is 550 square feet, most of which is kitchen and bathroom, but we manage to entertain frequently.  I'm hoping for more space in Bermuda to entertain all our visitors!

Gregory, Francesca and Alexander stopped by first, followed by Brooke, Deirdre, Carolena and Nicolas.  Then Jackie, Chris, Meredith, Dave and Jenny.  Later that evening, our friend Mark and his two boys (Ryan and Ethan) stopped.   It was a full house filled with all of my favorite people!

On top of the playoffs......it was the Jets vs Patriots - Mer vs Dave!  It was much different from the last game these two played and the Jets managed to win and move on to the next level.  Needless to say, Mer was very happy and Dave not so much!  They both had their supporters though.......
