Quick trip to NYC

Last weekend, John and I headed to NYC for a quick trip.  Not only was it wonderful to see our friends, but it was also the perfect Spring weekend in New York, which made it that much better!

We landed Saturday morning, made a stop at the Oyster Bar for some delicious clam chowder (remember my post about lack of clams in Bermuda???) before we headed to Yankee Stadium to catch an afternoon game.  It was a little chilly in the shade, but was nice catching up with everyone - oh, and the Yankees managed to win!

A sure sign of Spring in NYC!
Sunday, we met Jenny for brunch at Cookshop, a favorite of mine, and then spent the afternoon shopping!  You have to love Old Navy and their $4.50 golf shirts!  Sure beats spending $60 down on the island!!  Oh, not to mention the $24.99 mani/pedi!  Who would ever think NYC = Bargain??!!

More shopping on Monday, a little pizza, catching up with some friends and old colleagues, drinks with Jenny, dinner with friends....another great day!  I didn't do so well with the picture taking, but I do have this one of the tasty drinks Jenny and I had a place called Bookmarks - a rooftop bar at the Library Hotel.

Tuesday, after lunch with Pete, we were back at JFK heading home.  The trip was way too quick, but nice to see everyone and be back in the states for a bit!

OH, AND......NYC and cupcakes have become one.  I think we counted 3 cupcake shops in Grand Central Station alone!  But John and I found our favorite - Cupcakes by Melissa.  They are tiny bit-sized cupcakes in all different flavors.  We tried a peanut butter and Jelly and a red velvet - the perfect bite!!

John felt like a tourist in this picture, but I just needed to take it!
