Friday Night

Bermuda obviously does not celebrate Memorial Day and the kick off to their summer season happens on Bermuda Day - although, seems like it was summer here WAY before May 24th, so I'm not really following, but I guess every country has their quirks!

In our first year here,  I am determined to celebrate every single US holiday, so last night, to kick off Memorial Day weekend, we had a good old USA bbq - burgers and dogs!  Funny that this was never our tradition in New Jersey, but if I can't get clams down here, I definitely can't get steamers!  I did realize one of the enormous benefits on living in Bermuda......locally grown corn is currently in season and deliciously sweet and the locally grown tomatoes are also in season and tasty!  As John and I were enjoying our dinner last night, we were very happy not to have to wait until August for Jersey corn and tomatoes, although a little sad we weren't with our family and friends.

The watermelon cocktails are back!
Hard at work!
Sunset last night - always pretty!
