Low key weekend

I was a horrible picture taker this weekend, so unfortunately, I don't have many!
We had a really nice, low key weekend.  It was a little overcast and rainy, so our golf date didn't work out, but we did watch a whole lot of it on TV!

Friday afternoon was beautiful and sunny, so I went into town to meet John for lunch at a place called Harbourfront.  We sat outside, unfortunately, the weather turned (life on an island!) and it was a little chilly, but still beautiful!  It was the perfect start to the weekend!

Friday night, Karl and Xavier came over for dinner.  Marta and Excell were in NYC doing a little shopping, so we had the other boys over for a casual dinner.  We marinated a skirt steak in a delicious carne asada marinade, rice, beans, guacamole.....a mexican feast!  The food was good, but the company even better!   We are so lucky to have Karl down the road and it always makes me feel like I'm back at home when we spend time together.

Saturday was spent preparing (shopping, cooking and cleaning) for Sunday's BBQ.  We had about 12 people over for the final round of the Masters and our first BBQ.  It was a nice group of people, some that John works with and some we've met through others - I hope everyone had fun, I know we did!

I know, you're all wondering what was on the menu.......
Hamburgers
Hotdogs (although they don't have schickhaus down here, we did find some hebrew national's that are a good size and tasty!)
Teriyaki chicken (a HUGE hit!)
Grilled Potato Salad with blue cheese vinaigrette (thank you auntie and bobby flay)
French potato salad
Orzo with grilled vegetables in a lemon vinaigrette
Lemon bars
Peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies
Macaroons (store bought :-)

At least I took these at the end of the bbq!
John, Antoinette and DJ
Xavier and Karl.  Xavier was such a trooper, but crashed at the end of the party!
And now it's Monday, John is back at work and I am planning what new adventures I am going to go on while the sun is shining!
