I apologize for the lack of updates, but our internet (although supposedly set up early last week), just started working yesterday. Hopefully that ends my "technical difficulties" for a while.
This move has been the most challenging of all of mine and John's put together! To put that in perspective, together, we have moved states 8 times in our pasts. This one has proven to test our patience more than any of the others combined. I like to call it, building character.
On a happier note, our goods finally arrived on Thursday. I must say, this was the best experience of the entire move. The company who emptied our container and delivered our goods are my favorite people on the island. Not just because they brought our stuff to us, but they were friendly, helpful, professional. Once you come and visit, you'll be able to appreciate the visual - the house is on top of a bluff. When you drive up, you are way above the roof of the place and you have to go down a driveway that is in the shape of a U to get to the parking area. Once you are there, you are still above the roofline and you have to walk down 3 flights to get to our front door. These guys used a crane truck and lowered our entire lives down to our front door, one load at a time. You can imagine my reaction when they said they were going to "test it out". Test it out on what???? Our new furniture? Our wedding china? Our glass table?? John wouldn't even let me outside for the first couple of loads - he said it was better if I didn't see. I have to give them credit though, these guys had it down to a science. Two guys up top loading the pallet, two guys down with us unloading, it went better than I ever imagined! They even took away our empty boxes the same way. Loaded them on the pallet and up they went! Amazing.
The new space is amazing! I always knew we didn't have enough furniture to fill this space, hence by crazy shopping spree over these last few months, but I always thought we would have enough art to hang on the walls. Well, was I mistaken! This place is so big, it is the polar opposite of our New York apartment. There is a ton of space, everything is spread out, its not at all cluttered (i know, i know, that's a good thing), we have room for multiple visitors at one, we can host a proper dinner party, John and I can't just talk to each other regardless of what room we are in and we have plenty of wall space to grow our art collection!
Enough rambling and on to the pictures.............

It is still a work in progress, as you can see. The bed for the third bedroom is being delivered today, as is the outdoor furniture. We still have some pictures to hang and I can't photograph our bathroom and the rest of our bedroom until we put a few more things away! But, this will give you an idea of what our place looks like and where we are living......until you come visit and see for yourself!
