Back to Bermuda! Back to my Love!

After all the travels, I was happy as can be to come home to John!  We had never spent that much time apart and I missed him terribly, so it was great to come home and spend all weekend with him before he had to go back to work.

To my surprise, he picked me up at the airport in our brand new Kia Picanto!  The tiniest car I've ever been in, that's for sure!  So, when you come to visit, get ready for the adventure of driving on the other side of the road in this little bugger!

The Picanto!

We had a very fun, busy weekend.  Thursday night, we grabbed a quick and early dinner (Hawaii to Bermuda isn't the quickest flight) and went to sleep.  Thank you mom and abien, I slept though the night!

Friday evening, we went to a place called Harry's, which is a steakhouse in Hamilton, to meet some of John's new friends.  The place was jammed, although unlike the Pickled Onion, with older people who were on their way to being over served.  It was actually a very fun night, I met a lot of people and caught up with some others that I had known from my days at Marsh.  After a few drinks, John, his friend DJ (who also just moved down to the island with his wife - although his wife was back in the states, so I didn't meet her) and I went for pizza at Trattoria.

Saturday afternoon, we went driving in our little car - first stop was the Southampton Princess for lunch and a tour of their gym/spa facilities.  We are trying to find a gym that I can join close to where we live and since John may join the golf club, we thought we'd look here.  One word.......AMAZING!  The entire facility was amazing.....all workout equipment faced the water, yoga on the beach if it's nice, a spa, pool, decks and views that were all to die for!  We'll see what happens, but I would truly have no excuse to skip the gym if this is where I was coming to workout!

On our way back to the car - so pretty
Then it was off to The Bluffs to drop some stuff off and take a few pictures of our cute new home.

I still can't believe this is the view when you drive up here and park!
After a few errands, we stopped by to see the Jordan's and then off to dinner with a guy John works with, his fiance and another couple they are friends with.  I feel like John and I are dating all these new people, seeing what works and what doesn't.  My funny husband said it's like trying on shoes, you have to try them all before you find the one that fits perfectly!  Steve and Emma (John works with Steve) are very nice.  They are from England and moved down here in August.  I had actually met Emma the first time I was down for coffee.  She is very sweet, although I'm so Americanized, I have to concentrate rather hard to understand her accent.  I'm sure being here it will get better over time!  Dinner - we went to Sea Breeze at Elbow Beach - right on the beach, beautiful and I'm sure even better during the day!

You will have to forgive me for my lack of people pictures.  I didn't want to come across as the crazy New York blogger with all the new people I've been meeting.  Trying to make a good impression before I stick the camera in their faces!!

Sunday, John and I went cruising around the island.  We stopped for brunch at The Reefs, a hotel right down the way from The Bluffs, stopped at Church Bay (the beach down the hill from the house, 5 min walking), Horseshoe Bay, checked out the ferry stop all while John was laughing at me for driving "white knuckled" on the other side of the road.

The battery in my camera died, so I didn't get to photograph all of them, but I'm sure you get the picture! Living in Paradise!

Sunday night, we stayed in, I made minestrone soup, John made a salad and we watched bad TV.  And yes, I attempted to cook again after swearing it off for good in this place......this time was better.

Now I know you have all been asking when we are officially moving in to our new place.  This is a happy blog, so I'm not going to get into too much detail.  Let's just say, our goods have arrived.  Some have cleared customs, most haven't yet and we are very hopeful that we will have good news to report sometime this week!
