Labor Day Weekend

This Labor Day weekend, we were lucky enough to have a visitor, Jenny!  She came in on Friday and we had a great weekend together.

Friday night was a birthday celebration dinner at the Lighthouse, one of our go to restaurants down here.

Saturday was spent shopping and Jenny is such a trooper because after we hit a clothing store and had lunch, she endured some furniture shopping.  It's always good to have Jenny shopping with us - in fact, she's the reason we ended up with the purple chair and lavender couch!  This trip was also successful, we found a bookcase so we could get those cookbooks off the floor and some tables for the entryway.

The bookcase.....finally!!!!

Saturday night, we went to Katie and Brad's for a cocktail before heading to Rustico for dinner with Katie, Brad, Emma and Steve.  It was a fun night - they are all so nice and funny!

Sunday morning we headed to Shelly Bay so Jenny could do a training swim - for all of you who don't know, Jenny is doing a mini triathlon on Sunday.  I say mini - 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike and a 3 mile run......maybe not so mini!  She's doing this for herself and to raise money for a charity that is close to all of our hearts, Seas It.  www.firstgiving.com/seasit/danskin_triathlon

Shelly Bay is so beautiful, especially early in the morning when it's quiet!

After the swim, we headed out for a sail on the Ana Luna with our neighbors, Joy, David and Jackson.
It was a lovely few hours on the water.  Being on the Ana Luna with Captain Nate is like being at someones home, he is a gracious host!  We also did a little bit of snorkeling for the first time.  I know, I know, it only took 6 months, but I think John is officially hooked!  There is a whole world down there and the colors are amazing - I felt like I was in the Little Mermaid.

Who doesn't love a noodle??

On our way home, we stopped at the Swizzle Inn for a bite and a swizzle - I love the glasses they use to serve the swizzle!

That evening we stayed in, made dinner on the grill and just chatted.  It was nice and low key!
And then it's Monday.....the weekends always go so fast, even more so when visitors are in town.
It was wonderful having my sister here - being able to celebrate her birthday and just spending the time!
