In order to be able to drive on the island, either a scooter or a car, you need to pass a driving test, both written and on the road. Yesterday, John and I both went to take our written test and as we were walking in, we were both feeling like we were 17 again.....luckily we both passed!
Now we need to take our scooter test - weaving in and out of cones, driving in circles, signaling to turn all on a small course in the back of the TCD. I'm hoping we are lucky enough to pass this test! That way we can ditch the rental bikes and buy one of our own!
For our car test, we need to take driving lessons before they will let us take the actual road test. I am scheduled for today and John for tomorrow for the lessons.....we'll see how we do with the steering wheel on the other side of the car, as well as driving on the other side of the road and parallel parking!!!!
