Christmas Eve in Bermuda

This year, John and I stayed on the island for Christmas.  It was a pretty big adjustment for me since it was the first time in 34 years that I wasn't in Allenhurst with my family, but thanks to my wonderful husband and good friends & neighbors, we had a fun holiday.

On Christmas Eve, Joy, David and Jackson came over and we did our own version of the Feast of the Seven Fishes (which has been a tradition in my family for as long as I remember).  It was a delicious feast and even Jackson ate all seven fishes!

(I don't know what's going on with this website, but my pictures aren't loading in order, so please excuse the randomness)

Getting festive!
As in NJ, Champagne is a must on the Eve
Tasty codfish balls and anchovy bites
And lomi, lomi salmon (another NJ staple)
We also had crab stuffed mushrooms and bacon wrapped scallops

And a little cioppino with a Bermuda guinea chick for dinner

My table

And finally, a retreat to the bar for the reading of the Grinch
