Getting into the spirit!

This past week/weekend, we really tried to get into the holiday spirit, which can be challenging when it's still in the high 60's outside and there are palm trees everywhere.  Luckily, Bermuda really loves Christmas and the lights are abundant.  On Wednesday night, we went into town to celebrate our friend Katie's birthday.  I snapped a few pictures of the lights on front street and outside of John's building.

Angles, which I'm sure would be SO pretty lit up
Ahhhh.....

Lights on Front Street - they love their colors on this island
Thursday evening, we went to The Jordan's to make cookies.  Excell and Xavier were too cute and loved helping roll out the dough and decorate the cookies.  Children really do make the holidays fun, they get so excited about everything!  We had a blast with them, they really helped to bring joy to the season.

Got to love those smiles!  Luckily we put the pizza box down to decorate on....easy clean up!
Friday night, the Jordan's and the LaHuta's came over for a Christmas dinner.  We finally used the bar properly and set up appetizers in there and then moved to the dining room for dinner.   We had Christmas movies on for the kids and it was just very holiday in the house.  We are lucky to have such good friends down here who make Bermuda feel like home.  It was a wonderful night filled with laughter!

Love how you can see the tree reflection in the coffee table.

My table...finally, I can use all of my reindeer china properly.

John, the bartender!

Joy and Jackson....he's so smiley!

Saturday, after John and I cleaned up, we headed down to Elbow Beach for lunch.  The sun was shining and we thought it would be a nice way to spend a few hours.  You know that we have acclimated to the weather when John is in a sweater and people vacationing at Elbow were in bathing suits!

I know John's a little dark, but I was going for the view....
Not a bad view for a Saturday lunch in December and it's all open, so the fresh air felt great!
On Sunday, Steve, Emma, Katie, Brad and the LaHuta's came over for brunch.  It was nice to see our British friends before they headed back to England for the holidays.  It was a rainy day, so we put football on and Joy, David and Jackson stayed through dinner.  Again, we feel so lucky to have made such good friends and even luckier that they are neighbors!

LOVE this set and so did everyone else

Right into dinner, santa place mats from when I was little and the grinch!  David got a real kick out of the santa napkin rings that are....how old?!!!
Yesterday, John took the day off and we had a nice lazy day together.  We went to see the movie New Years Eve - it's not winning any awards, but was fun to see New York all decked out for the holidays.

It was a wonderful, fun weekend celebrating Christmas with our friends down here!
