Decorating for Christmas

It's always fun to decorate for Christmas, even more so when you have the room to spread out all of the decorations!  If any of you ever walked into our NYC apartment at Christmastime, you know it looked like a Christmas bomb exploded.  Now, it looks festive without being overwhelming!

John and I got our tree from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda.  As much as I love the idea of getting a tree from a charity, this tree was as dead as can be the day it showed up.  And it's slightly crooked - not how we put it in the stand, but the trunk itself hangs a left half way up the tree.  At first, it was a little disconcerting, but I've really come to love our tree, quirks and all.

John holding up the crooked tree
And the random branch that looks like an arm or hand waving to you - John says our tree looks like it just rolled out of bed - my friends say that's what gives it character.

One of my favorites!  We moved the grey chair into the bedroom and kept this purple one out so we could enjoy it over the holidays.

One of the best gifts!!  I love it every year and it looks so pretty when it's lit.
Our stocking holders from Target!

A new addition this year from island trading
A place for all my books!

And some dishes on display

  1. Your place looks amazing. I LOVE all the decorations. Can I ask - what is the photo pillow all about - I might want a more close-up picture. I love the tree and the "waving" arm.
